What We Do

Here at ROC Code, we are committed to ensuring that anyone who wishes to code has the opportunity! We hope to make programming accessible to all, no matter financial ability or gender. Furthermore, we aspire to provide technology to financially disadvantaged students, so they can better connect to the world and their learning, as both become more and more digitized.

Bringing ROC Code to your own school

You can bring the mission and resources of ROC Code to your own school by creating a chapter. The chapter will be led by members chosen by the school or students creating the chapter, and the chapter will just have to follow some guidelines provided from ROC Code along with the school's own guidelines. Speaker Events

Spreading our passion to others

ROC Code is devoted to sharing computer science knowledge that goes beyond programming with its students. By hosting speaker events with professionals from all parts of the computer science field, we are bringing students further into the computer science discipline.

Coding Competitions and Hackathons

Challenging each generation of programmers

ROC Code recognizes the lack of coding competitions in Rochester and therefore is interested in hosting contests to give students more opportunity to connect with others under the program. These competitions will also be a great way for students to show off their skills and motivate their classmates and themselves to greater coding heights. Contests styles will vary, with some being longer than others, and even some team event competitions.
